Midlands rock outfit release their debut EP on Venn Records on the 10th of April.
This debut EP is a satisfyingly heavy mix of emo, grunge, alternative-rock and a hint of metal. The guitars absolutely crunch where you want them to but they also have an absolutely fantastic grasp of melody and harmony in the vocals where three of the four members contribute.
The four band members are Harry Rogers (drums), Luke Osmond (guitar & vocals), Ciaran O’Sullivan (guitar & vocals) and Isabelle Smith (bass & vocals) who all came together at school in the Midlands.
Opening track ‘Polish The Chrome’ drops the hammer quickly. The main vocal is a throaty roar in the verse that finds that tuneful melody on the chorus. ‘Tears In Rain’ is equally solid. Is that a Roy Batty Bladerunner reference? Dunno.
‘Under The Water’ starts more alt-rock with insistent guitar and drums with a strong chorus. The final two tracks are slightly contradictory titled ‘Stay Awake’ and ‘Still Asleep.’ Following on from a few earlier singles there is much promise contained in these five tracks. Get this band on your radar now.
