A solid offering from a well travelled artist, that will appeal to fans of Llorde.
Lillie West has spent time of late in Chicago, New Mexico, Iceland and London (where she grew up). This desire for change, for finding something different inspires much of this fifth album.

Opening track ‘Car Anymore’ sounds like LCD Soundsystem fronted by Llorde. Her vocal range and style frequently illicit a comparison to the New Zealand superstar. There is musically some overlap, though West goes in for harsher edged synths, bordering on dance at times. An evolution from the more straight forward indie of her earliest offerings.
This is an enjoyable, if undemanding, set of tracks, weighing in at just over half an hour. Singles ‘Even Mountains Erode’ and ‘Does This Go Faster?’ are clear highlights.
