A proper indie album with a hefty dose of Madchester vibes. Out on Run For Cover Records .
We didn’t quite finish this review in time for the January the 30th release but it is well worth checking out. Previously of Canadian hardcore band F***ed Up, Ben Cook grew up between the UK and Canada. He has been working as a solo-artist for a number of years now.

This album has a real good times vibe to it. There is a proper whiff of laid back summer, the sort of album that will sound great at a barbecue. There is a huge debt to early nineties Madchester and Baggy. Anyone who properly enjoys The Happy Mondays, The Stone Roses and Kasabian can add on an extra half to a whole star onto this review.
‘Let Your Hands Go’ has that proper Happy Mondays/Primal Scream swagger to it. ‘Blue Jade’ carries more of a new wave vibe. ‘Warmer Than Gold’ could have sat on either of the Stone Roses albums, though sounds more like Guy Garvey from Elbow fronting it at times. The singles have been fantastic but the rest of the album is thoroughly solid as well.
Essential Tracks: ‘Let Your Hands Go’ and ‘Warmer Than Gold’
