Joshua Idehen and Ibibio Sound Machine lead the way on a busy Saturday of non-stop music.
After Friday’s tasty hors d’oeuvres, Saturday serves up a main course of 18 acts to see!
Beatroots Bateria: Local samba band who will be popping up throughout the day.
Readipop XOX Showcase 12:30 – 1:00pm Second Stage: Readipop music charity’s XOX arm serves up two more acts today. Nostromo and Projected Form.
Sundaughter 1:00 – 1:30pm Main Stage: Yet more evidence of the rude health of the Reading guitar scene comes from this band that I can only describe as shoegaze meets The Last Dinner Party with a side order of The Smiths. Follow them on Spotify and on Instagram, they deserve it.
The Amazing Tiger Band 1:30 – 2:00pm Second Stage: Another staple of the Reading guitar scene over the last few years and great supporters of other live artists. We always seem to keep missing them actually playing so looking forward to this one.
The Race 2:00 – 2:30pm Main Stage: Another Reading band, active between 2004 and 2009, then vanished into the “Real World” for 16 and a bit years. The tracks released from their new EP sound really, really great, again – follow them on Spotify and Instagram.
Ma Bessie: 2:30 – 3:00pm Second Stage: Soul, jazz and blues singing from a local performer who has been performing for over twenty years.
The Wave Pictures 3:00 – 3:45pm Main Stage: If you like your music with a bit of wry tweeness then you are going to enjoy these guys. Been going for 11 albums at this point.
Freddie Lewis 3:45 – 4:15pm Second Stage: Whenever we think we listen to a lot of music Heavy Pop always manage to turn up something interesting that has completely passed us by. Bouncy, sunshine-fueled indie-pop.
Paige Kennedy 4:15 – 4:45pm Main Stage: Smart alt-pop music. ‘Lingerie Model’ has had well over a million streams, but had some reach that the rest of her recordings have struggled to match.
Miss Hunte 4:45 – 5:15pm Second Stage: We caught Miss Hunte at Are You Listening? Festival earlier this year and she has a great voice, well worth a listen.

Ziyad Al-Samman 5:15 – 6:00pm Main Stage: Might well steal the whole weekend. He put on a great performance of disco-bangers at Are You Listening? Festival 2025. His newer material has a much rockier edge to it, but sounds great!

Lost Velvet 6:00 – 6:30pm Second Stage: One of the new leaders of the pack in the local guitar scene.

The New Eves 6:30 – 7:15pm Main Stage: One that we are really looking forward to. This Brighton band featured on Opus Kink’s recent debut album and are going on tour with them soon as well. An impressive sound.
Dolly And The Clothes Pegs 7:15 – 8:00pm Second Stage: Hillbilly takes on classic songs from a Reading institution.
Ibibio Sound Machine 8:00 – 9:00pm Main Stage: Great timing to catch this fantastic band as they have an excellent brand new album out this weekend, Chopping Mountain. Electronic afro-funk of the highest order.
C Duncan 9:00 – 9:45pm Second Stage: Scottish multi-instrumentalist who is hard to pin down musically. As capable of dropping a power ballad as a full orchestral pop track. His debut album was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize.
Joshua Idehen: 9:45 – 10:45pm Main Stage: Allowing us to right wrong from Are You Listening? Festival 2025 where we didn’t get to his acclaimed performance. Had a superb new album out in March. This performance poet has more clearly aligned with dance music on his recent work. Expect an uplifting, life-improving experience.
