Fletchr Fletchr return with a second EP with an absolutely massive wide-screen indie sound. The five tracks presented here, all self produced by the band, are a huge step up from their previous EP. The drums hit harder, the guitars sound fiercer and the vocals carry more depth and emotion.

Rohan Fletcher and Adam Sanders met at school and rounded out the band at university. The key pair are now Cornwall based, living in Rohan’s family home which makes for a long gig commute but also gave birth to the name Fletchr Fletchr, bringing in Sanders like an honourary brother.

Of the new EP Rohan Fletcher said, “On The Island We Call Home feels like our most polished piece of work yet. While still completely self produced, we’ve refined what we learnt from ‘We All Feel The Same’ into a much heavier hitting project that was curated to translate on the live stage. We dive deeper than we have before on this EP, and it’s only the start of our next chapter. The themes we explore are more mature and we approach them with a better sense of what’s going on around us. You can hear a bit more angst and anger in this new set of songs.”

They have absolutely achieved what they set out to do. This is anthemic indie designed to fill stadiums. Opening track ‘Passenger’ just keeps escalating as it progresses. Opening with the sound of Cornish seagulls, building up to a huge anthemic crescendo.

‘F*****g With My Head’ has an epic quality and an underlying sense of urgency that drives it along. ‘For You’ and ‘Karma’  continue things along nicely before ‘Streetlights’ ends it in proper style.

What an EP. There is no unnecessary fat here, everything is constructed with precision and intent. The debut album will be one to look forward to. Highly recommended.
