After a few years off Down At The Abbey returns to Reading in September 2026 with a quality first line-up announcement.
The Abbey ruins are a distinctive part of Reading’s history and character. Heavy Pop have previously run a great little music festival there and are back this year to help us get over those post Reading Festival music blues. The headliners are no surprise to anyone who attended Are You Listening Festival? as there were posters for Down At The Abbey at St Laurence Church.
The initial line-up is full of quality acts. The brilliant poet and musician Joshua Idehen returns to Reading after his widely adored appearance at Are You Listening Festival? 2025. Ibibio Sound Machine will be bringing their well regarded fusion of electronic music and afro-funk that has enthralled audiences all over the country and beyond. Nubiyan Twist are the Friday headliners, mixing jazz, hip-hop, afrobeat, latin, soul, reggae and dance music in memorable style.

Also appearing in the initial name drop are C Duncan, producer and DJ Nathan Fake and the dry witted Scottish artist Kathryn Joseph. It will also give Reading another opportunity to be amazed by the disco brilliance of Ziyad Al-Samman.

The Festival takes place on Friday the 11th and Saturday the 12th of September. Tickets are available from: Down At The Abbey Tickets
