Single of the week: Sleaford Mods ft Aldous Harding – Elitist G.O.A.T (The Prodigy Acid Thunder Mix)
The best track from the recent Sleaford Mods album gets a thunderous reworking curtesy of The Prodigy’s Liam Howlett. The acts have a good relationship, Sleaford Mods guesting on the ‘Ibiza’ track from The Prodigy’s 2015 album The Day Is My Enemy.
Matilda Mann – Bittersweet
Gorgeous tune from the British Indie-folk musician, might be her best work yet.
Nell Mescal – Kissing The Ground
22 year-old Irish singer songwriter and younger sister of actor Paul Mescal. After a number of decent EPs surely an album is due? This is a suitably stirring single.
Chase & Status – Homework feat. Lancey Foux
The 30 year-old London rapper Lancey Foux joins Chase & Status on this strong new single. Despite no official announcement yet it feels very likely a new album from the legends is incoming soon. Catch them headlining Reading Festival in their only non-DJ set show this year.
NewDad – Kick The Curb
A beautifully chilled new single from the Irish rock band, thoughtful and contemplative. Their first release since parting ways with Atlantic Records.
Holly Humberstone – Beauty Pageant
One of the best tracks from the new Cruel World album. It almost goes ‘Life on Mars’ but showcases the sheer quality of Humberstone’s vocal range.
