The up and coming Isle Of White band cancel all live dates with immediate effect, including a visit to Reading’s Facebar.

The Pill’s visit to the Facebar in Reading was one of the most eye catching gigs lined up for this years Independent Venue Week at the end of January. The impressive punk-rock girl band best-friends duo of Lily Hutchings and Lottie Massey have been performing since 2019. We caught them supporting HotWax at the same venue early last year and they impressed.

In a shock announcement on their Instagram Account the pair announced they were calling it a day and immediately cancelling all forthcoming headline shows. They cited the toll taken from the large number of live shows they played last year. Whilst Lottie plans to continue in music in some form, Lily is stepping back to pursue her jewellery business on the Isle of Wight.

An impressive array of contemporary musical acts have already expressed their sadness, or their understanding on the post. HotWax said, “You guys are so special ! So glad we got to tour together ❤️ so much love and admiration x” Fellow Isle Of Wighters Coach Party wrote, “Very sad news on this blue Monday. Let’s meet for a coffee soon on the isle de wight. Sending love xxxxx.” Big Special put “Lots of love gang. Class band. All the best for what is next xx” and Gans added, “All the love you two, you’re the best 🖤🖤🖤”
