The Belair Lip Bombs have an album ready to assault the mainstream charts with. Out October 31st on Third Man Records.
If it isn’t Ireland at the moment, then it has to be Australia. The Belair Lip Bombs have been together for eight years, formed in a Melbourne suburb. The line-up consists of Maisie Everett, Mike Bradvica, Jimmy Droughton, and Daniel “Dev” Devlin.

Again is a confident step-up from debut album Lush Life released in 2023. The band mention The Rolling Stones, The War on Drugs, Weezer and Steven Malkmus and Pavement when discussing influences. You can occasionally detect this DNA, but the finished product is strongly satisfying indie-pop-rock, sometimes it rocks out a little more, but this is ultimately designed to be mainstream radio friendly fodder to be enjoyed by a range of ages.
Lead single ‘Hey You’ sounds effortlessly fantastic. The track is like a cross between The Strokes and The Stereophonics fronted by Danielle Haim.
The rest of the album is just as polished. ‘Again and Again’ has a jangling groove to it with added fiddle. ‘Cinema’ leans closer to a pure pop song.
It would be very hard not to like this album. Your musical tastes will depend on whether or not you find this inoffensive background music for the radio, or the kind of band you would be willing to buy tickets for a stadium show for. It is definitely music that will go down well in large venues and fill those sorts of spaces. An album that will go down very nicely on the summer festival circuit next year.
