The music world haven’t quite all knocked off for their Christmas Holidays just yet…

Single Of The Week: Kid Kapichi -Rabbit Hole

A slower and more tuneful track than usual from Kid Kapichi. The new album feels like a bit of a shift in direction so far. Mellow and thoughtful, with that vein of autobiographical writing that they often tap into.

Poppy – Guardian

Yet another assured piece of finely produced heavy rock/metal from this wonderful artist. 2026 should cement her seat at metal’s top table.

Ronker – Limelighter

Like a slightly heavier version of IDLES from Belgium. These guys sound great, their 2024 album was fantastic and this single from the new album hits hard.

The Coral – She Died on Christmas Day

It is so typical of The Coral, a band that could tease happiness and joy out of any subject, to write a Christmas song and turn it into a nostalgic lament. This has a real 60s feel to it with what sounds distinctly like a hammond organ doing the heavy lifting.

Tigers Jaw – Head Is Like A Sinking Stone

Tigers Jaw have been growing a substantial following over the last 20 years. A rock band with a hint of skate-punk. Worth digging into if you are unfamiliar.

Ash – Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

After that cover of ‘Jump In The Line’ nothing is off the table where Ash are concerned. This is a very decent straight up indie-rock cover of the Christmas classic.

Doom Club – Love Connection

We saw Doom Club supporting The Sick Man Of Europe earlier in the year and this is another intriguing release with a wild back end to it.

Yamila – Sin Desarraigo

Fascinating track from Spanish cellist and producer Yamila.

Divorce – Antarctica (ft. Marcus Mumford)

A reworked version of this gorgeous song from their brilliant album Drive To Goldenhammer, featuring Marcus Mumford.
