A great newish local band head up the playlist this week.
Single of the Week: Juliette The Band – You
We owe Newbury based Juliette The Band an apology or two as we have been meaning to feature their album from April for months now, time is always against us! Anyways, we are only three weeks late reviewing their most recent single and it is so good we are giving it a belated Single of The Week. They have a very clean, classic indie-pop sound and this is just uplifting fun.
Matilda Mann – Inventing
This has an easy listening groove that floats along effortlessly with some neat production. As always on record Mann’s voice sounds great.

Bad Boy Chiller Crew – 660 (feat. Dizzee Rascal & S Dog)
Despite one of the worst band names in current music this is a solid piece of up-tempo fun. Dizzee Rascal is not the musical power that he once was but it is still nice to see him popping up here.
Poppy – Bruised Sky
Whilst the memory of her brilliant 2024 album Negative Spaces is still fresh in our memory here comes our second taste of its follow up Empty Hands, due out in January 2026. Her recent work is always nothing less than rock solid and this is another fine slice of rock-metal.
Billy Woods – Complications (feat. Aesop Rock)
Has Billy Woods taken a day off this year? His Armand Hammer collaboration with ELUCID and The Alchemist only dropped last week. His album GOLLIWOG remains one of the most fascinating hip-hop releases all year and this is like the third or fourth non-album single he has slipped out. Like GOLLIWOG this is atmosphere heavy, relying on his fast intelligent patter.
Ellie Goulding – Destiny
Written as the end credits track for dark anime series Clevatess, this a typically high quality effort from the talented Goulding.
Robyn – Dopamine
Whilst we don’t lean into pure pop that often Robyn remains one of modern music’s most fascinating exponents. Whilst she has popped up on other people’s tracks frequently this is her first proper new music of her own for nearly seven years and set the internet alight over the last week.
Sonic Whip – Waters Rising
A bit Foo Fighters, a bit grunge, a bit ELO – we love this new single from the Dutch outfit.
