One of our favourite albums of the year gets a further 5 songs added to it!

It is a good Friday for reissues. There is one very excellent deluxe edition coming out at midnight that we are sworn to secrecy about until it drops. You Are The Morning is a gorgeous, special album and has also gained some extra passengers. Our original review of it is here:

jasmine.4.t: You Are The Morning

‘Please Can We Hold Each Other Yesterday,’ is a demo recorded on Jasmine’s phone. It isn’t quite as strong as the original album tracks, but it is very in the same vein both musically and thematically, and is enjoyable enough.

‘Find Ur Ppl’ is an older track that Jasmine wasn’t previously fully happy with. This again fits in well thematically with the themes of the album. This one is about finding your tribe, finding where you belong and fit in. This has a beautiful, almost country-esque backing and a fine guitar solo that gains in prominence as it reaches the end.

‘I Can’t Believe I Did This Without You’ preceded this release as a new single. This is a brand new one that Jasmine started working on between recording takes of ‘You Are The Morning’ along with ‘I Don’t Think Anyone Else Could Hold The Same Place In My Heart.’

‘Did U No’ has been a firm part of Jasmine’s live set for a while. It was a track intended for the original album but they ran out of time in the Los Angeles sessions to record it. It is a touch heavier than the majority of ‘You Are The Morning’ and live it gets taken up several notches further with a major rock out between Jasmine and her guitarist Emily.

This is a nice series of additions for a truly special album. If you haven’t listened to You Are The Morning yet it is absolutely essential listening. If you have already heard it, this is a good excuse to revisit one of the defining albums of the year.
