Radio Free Alice
Did Festival Republic get a package deal on Australian bands this year? Anyway, this is one to be glad they bought over from Melbourne as they have a great, classic indie sound. Hints of late 80s and early 90s greats like The Smiths and New Order.
Bartees Strange
Highly active since 2020. Born in Ipswich but living in the USA since age 12. 3 albums and a clutch of EPs. Multi-instrumentalist maker of genre mixing indie. Generally, very melodic and tuneful, though has a love of horror that sneaks through into some tracks.
Balu Brigada
New Zealand band whose debut album comes out on the 29th of this month. A mix of new wave vibes crossed with The Strokes and bands of that generation.
Nell Mescal
Entry number 579 in why Irish music is absolutely brilliant right now. Producing a series of singles since 2020 there are a range of older and newer influences from Phoebe Bridgers to Fleetwood Mac in her work. ‘In My Head’ featured on the soundtrack for Heartstopper.
Skye Newman
22 year-old English singer-songwriter who has exploded onto the scene in the course of 3 singles since March this year. Strong pop music with undercurrents of R & B, soul and rock.
Antony Szmierek
Poet and music-maker, spoken word gentle rapping over dance beats. Will appeal to fans of The Streets.

Luvcat
The debut album isn’t out until October, but you can already hear seven tracks of it. This band fronted by Sophie Morgan Howarth does a nice line in dark indie-pop, leaning towards alt-rock.

Matilda Mann
Stunningly voiced British indie-folk singer songwriter who can also do a Billie Eilish when the mood takes her. The debut album came out in February, but she has been releasing singles and EPs since 2020. ‘The Day That I Met You’ is incredible.
Good Kid
Toronto based indie band whose work is highly linked into the world of computer games. Several of their tracks became popular with top Fortnite players who used their songs on Twitch streams. They also did a whole soundtrack for a game called Ghost King’s Revenge. Around that they have produced a series of EPs though their most successful track is a cover of Laufey’s ‘From The Start’ which is approaching 150 million streams on Spotify alone.
Nieve Ella
A fantastic alternative to the casual misogyny of D-Block Europe. 22-year-old English singer-songwriter with a great line in indie-rock and indie-pop. Another artist who has had a boost from the soundtrack from Heartstopper.
The Dare
As huge fans of LCD Sound System and electroclash we are very excited by The Dare. An uneven debut album has not dampened our belief that this is a mega-talented New York performer and producer.

JD Cliffe
London based rapper who uses a mix of grime and indie-rock to set his flow to. Plugging away since 2017 and more interesting than a lot of his contemporaries.
Cliffords
Another staggeringly good Irish indie band. There are only a couple of EPs so far, but they are stacked full of excellent tunes. One not to miss.
WENCH!
Stunningly good new punk-rock band from Hull. Absolutely one to seek out and watch before they become the next Lambrini Girls.

Indoor Foxes
A Scottish singer and songwriter making very decent indie-rock music.
Niki Kini
Oxford based singer-songwriter who does a nice line in R & B and pop.
Mcxxne
Pronounced Max-seen. A blend of R & B, soul and pop music from Newcastle.

EV
English rapper with a lively dance sound taking in drum and bass, rave and dub-step.
Déyyess
Indie-alt-pop artist from Canterbury. Was scouted by Arsenal but turned it down to concentrate on her music.
Amie Blu
21-year-old singer songwriter from London. Laid back indie-grooves with strong summer vibes.
