An absolutely cracking week for new tunes headlined by a magnificent new single from Wolf Alice.
Single of the Week: Wolf Alice – White Horses
Wowzers, what a track. Just as you are getting your head around that fantastic intro drummer Joel Amey surprises you by opening the vocals. Ellie Rowsell eventually pops up on the chorus and then duets. Every track for new album The Clearing released so far leaves you contemplating it for ages, there are huge depths here and excellent production craft. Obviously, expectations are always high for Wolf Alice, but this new album looks likely to be something very, very special.
Glass Animals – Vampire Bat
What a band. I am utterly in love with this new single; it compels you to tap along. This is the fifth release in their Fresh Fruit series where they play around with new sounds and collaborate more with others. This smooth and funky number has SZA producer Rob Bisel on board.

Sick Joy – All Damage
Slung were singing the praises of fellow Brighton band Sick Joy when we met for a chat and here they are with a FANTASTIC new single. A deep dive into their back catalogue feels very necessary.
STONE – NEVER AGAIN
Liverpudlian hardcore punks STONE have unleashed a superb track after a year away licking their wounds from a record deal that went sour. This is effectively a HUGE F-YOU about that deal. The way it kicks up a gear after two minutes is awesome. On a quieter week this would easily have been a single of the week.

Reezy and AJ Tracey – BORN SPINNER
Superb collaboration between German rapper Reezy and AJ Tracey. This is off a new album by Reezy that we will be taking time to have a listen of. Tracey is absolutely having a year right now, popping up on a string of great tracks with others on top of releasing a brilliant album himself.
Die Spitz – Pop Punk Anthem (Sorry for the Delay)
Another week, another growth in intense loathing at the knowledge that we missed Die Spitz playing live in London. This has such a gloriously deep rock sound. A very special album is clearly incoming in September.

NewDad – Pretty
Debut album MADRA was great, already though they seem intent on absolutely eclipsing it with even better singles proceeding number two.
Mudi Sama – End Of The World
A very similar vibe to Master Peace, and a brilliant, brilliant track. Playing Reading and Leeds Festival, opening the BBC Introducing Stage on Saturday at Reading.
Courting – the twins (1969)
A special edition version of recent album Lust For Life may fix the biggest issue with it, that it was waaaay too short. This track is dynamite, there may be at least one more, an announcement is coming

Ho99o9 ft. Nova Twins, Pink Siifu & Yung Skrrt – Incline
HUUUUGE COLLAB with a monster range of talent. Again, the list is soooo deep this week I would have given this single of the week on most weeks. An absolute banger.
