Pay attention to the name, this is an artist who could make a big impression on the music scene and on the charts.
Kah’Nya released her first single when she was just 14 and she is still only 18. She moved to England from Zimbabwe a couple of years ago and is now primed to take big steps forward in her music career.

Listening to Kah’Nya recorded there are a range of influences and instruments at play. Here today on the outdoor stage of the AYL? Hub, on a beautifully sunny day, she is boldly up there on her own with an acoustic guitar. It shows the extent of her talents as she easily carries every track with strong playing and the stripped back versions allow her voice and the gorgeous melodies to shine.

‘Something Else’ could easily be a huge hit for an Olivia Rodrigo or a Lana Del Ray. ‘Number 1’ is a massive slice of pop that would only take some minor retouches to turn into a Top 40 track. She throws in a cover of 4 Non Blondes ‘What’s Up’ and it sounds phenomenal.

The set is far too short at 30-minutes, you could happily listen to her playing all afternoon. Check out her appearance on BBC Introducing this week: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0l98g7z
